Frequently Asked Questions

Does Trans-road handle the import declaration in GB or Switzerland?

No. Trans-road manages the full Spanish export declaration and coordinates border documentation. The import declaration is the responsibility of the importer through their designated customs agent in GB or CH. We coordinate with that agent to ensure smooth clearance.

What documents do I need for customs clearance to GB?

You need a valid GB EORI number, a designated customs broker in the UK, commercial invoices with HS tariff codes and goods values, packing lists, and certificates of origin if claiming preferential rates under the TCA.

What is the transit time for customs-cleared shipments to the UK?

Door-to-door transit including customs processing is typically 4–6 working days from Spain, with 3–4 departures per week on the Spain–UK corridor.

Do I need an EORI number to import from Spain to Switzerland?

Yes. A Swiss EORI number is required for customs clearance. You also need a designated customs agent in Switzerland, complete commercial documentation, and certificates of origin if applicable under the EU–Switzerland bilateral agreements.

Can Trans-road handle ADR dangerous goods with customs clearance?

Yes. We transport ADR classes 1–9 from Spain with full customs management. Additional ADR documentation (safety data sheets, UN numbers, transport category) must be provided alongside standard customs paperwork.
