Volume above 8β10 LDM
When your shipment fills more than 60β70% of a trailer, FTL rates per LDM typically undercut LTL groupage pricing. Calculate the crossover point with your specific corridor and cargo weight.
Time-critical shipments
FTL eliminates consolidation and transhipment stops, delivering 1β2 days faster than LTL on most corridors. If missing a production window has a cost, FTL's speed premium often pays for itself.
High-value or sensitive cargo

A standard European curtainsider trailer holds 13.6 LDM of usable floor space, which accommodates approximately 33β34 standard EUR pallets (1200Γ800 mm), or 27 industrial pallets (1200Γ1000 mm). Maximum payload is 24,000 kg. Double-deck trailers can carry up to 66 EUR pallets if cargo is stackable.
FTL (full truckload) from Spain to Germany typically takes 2β3 days for standard service. Because FTL is a dedicated vehicle with no consolidation or transhipment stops, transit times are generally 1β2 days faster than equivalent LTL groupage shipments.
The standard maximum gross vehicle weight for a 3-axle articulated lorry in the EU is 40,000 kg, giving a typical net payload of 24,000β25,000 kg after tare weight.
